Dai Yuqiang

Dai Yuqiang,a tenor, is one of the leading actors of the PLA
Opera House. As a dazzling star in the Chinese music
circle, he has graduated from the Opera Class of
Performance Department of the Central Academy of Drama
and the Music Department of the PLA Academy of Arts. He
has successively learned from a lot of famous masters,
including Yan Keting, Han Dezhang, Ma Qiuhuaa, Jin Tielin,
Wu Qihui, Luciano Pavarotti and so on. For many years,
the tenor has studied hard and made efforts so that he has
acquired a lot of preeminent skills. As a singer of classical
music, he has gained such great achievements that no one
can compete. Still the singer constantly pursues perfect
artistic realm and goes forward at a higher level.

Dai Yuqiang has an excellent talent for music, with his voice
sweet and tender and smooth. He is fluent and extended in
his mediant and bass, and is vigorous and unrestrained but
fluent and sweet in alt. In addition, he has a calm breadth
and can control it freely, and he has a perfect
differentiation in lines. In his singing in performance, the
tenor incorporated sincere emotions and high aspiration
into lines of songs, which are fluent and free like a river. In
stage performance, he is graceful and elegant and tender
but male. He sang extensive songs with diverse styles,
including classical, modern and folk ones and so on. He is
popular in his audiences for such songs he sang as You
Are Such a Person, I Come Like Snowflakes from the Sky,
Lady Kashi Ger and Seeing Xibaipo Again. Mr. Tibe Ludas,
a world-famous broker and one of the top three tenor,
offered a high appraisal to Dai after he heard Dai’s singing.
And Pavorotti, a world-famous tenor happily took Dai as his
first Asian student.

Besides singing a series of songs, Dai Yuqiang also serves
as the main role in a lot of operas. In China, he acted the
leading role in such Chinese and foreign operas as
Turandot, La Traviata, Carmen, La Boheme, My Heart is
Flying, White Reeds and Red Cottons, as well as Jade Bird
& Military Depot. On the opera stage, he has shown
remarkable artistic talents. He not only can acted the
leading roles in world-famous classical operas, but also
satisfactorily interpret domestic original operas with national
characters. In his opera performance, he pays much
attention to showing the inner world of his roles, and moves
his audiences with his sincere emotions with his sincere
emotion, which has acquired favorable comment from
domestic and overseas critical circles and experts. Friends
of the Japanese opera circle acclaimed him as " the pride of
the Chinese opera". He was also appraised as " a rare
overall opera talent" by famous experts of domestic music
circle. In October of 2003, he acted the leading role in the
opera Turandot in the opera house of Portland of U.S.A.
On July 10, 2004, Dai Yuqiang cooperated with Maria
Guleghina and Samuel Ramey, world-famous singers and
successfully acted the leading role in Tosca, one of Puccini’
s operas. Subway Daily, a widely issued newspaper
appraised Dai as “the sole bright star in the whole
performance”. The Royal Opera House invited him to
perform Puccini's operas Turandot and La Bohemes in
2004-2005. In November 2004, he acted again the leading
role in the opera Turandot in the Pacific Opera House in
the USA. In December 2004, he went to Italy to act the
leading role in the opera The Artist’s Career, under the
invitation of his teacher Pawalodi.  

At present, Dai Yuqiang is a singer of EMI Record
Company. In July 2004, he recorded and produced his first
personal monograph disc of world-famous opera aria in the
company. This disc was nominated as classical music disc
award in the candidates of the Grammy Music Awards of
2004 just made known. In China, he has issued 5 discs so
far.

Dai Yuqiang has drawn attention for his artistic
achievements at home and aboard, and he has become the
target of many medias. Now he is one of the most active
Chinese tenors on domestic and overseas stages.
